it's always been about the big payoff and not about actually determining a true championship in division I-A college football. this whole debate about playoffs is a very very recent phenomenon which means that it will still take some time for the NCAA to decide whether they want to implement it or not. at this point, they probably feel that it would be a money-losing situation or else they would have taken steps to get one implemented.

also, if the NCAA were fair, schools like miami and notre dame would not have football programs, or would not be able to field a decent team for as long as they have. the NCAA has and probably always will play favorites and that is yet another reason they won't ever institute a playoff system until they can figure out a way to get their favorite teams into it. right now, boise state is so far outside the system it's not even funny, but they're too good to ignore completely. it sucks that they don't even get mentioned, but that's the way college football wants it right now.

Why don't they just have a damned playoff in college football, already? (Semi coherent Rant) - 10/01/2010 02:59:39 PM 577 Views
