1. Do you like musicals? Why (not)?
Yes. I like the theatre, and I like music, so an appreciation for musical theatre is a natural extension. It's also a lot of fun to do musicals.

2. Do you like opera? Why (not)?
Yes, for much the same reason. I'm often more impressed by these, as I know that I will never be an opera singer.

3. What's your favorite musical?
My favorite is the one you mention below, Les Misérables. The weekend after next I will be going to see my second favorite musical, Into the Woods.

4. What elevates it above the rest?
For Les Mis, everything. The music is phenomenal, the story is good, the characters are strong.

5. What's your favorite opera?
Carmen

6. What elevates it above the rest?
It is, I'm sad to say, the only opera I have actually ever seen. (Although I like the one in Final Fantasy III/VI a lot too. :P )

BONUS POINTS: Do you or have you ever teared up while watching Les Misérables? If not, how does it feel to lack a soul?
