Sounds like she wants to keep you in your place. School is never a mistake. Especially if you're going for something you enjoy.

If you're willing to make her angry, ask her if she'd say that to a single father. Bet she would never think of it! It's really none of her business, as long as it doesn't affect your work there.

I guess if you don't want to rock the boat, just thank her for her concern and do what you want to do. It just really makes me mad on your behalf! So she doesn't want you to advance in your life or your career? Just keep working right there under her supervision, right? And I thought my boss was rude!


I'll be honest with you. When I left the meeting, and I thought about it, I thought "wow, she really doesn't think very much of me.." and what and how she said things, almost felt .. well snobby.

I did just thank her for her thoughts, and I'll do what I want. It's really that simple.
