How is that as a rough percentage of your overall income? Sareitha Sedai Send a noteboard - 25/02/2010 03:18:16 PM
so, i've been actively seeking a different job for the last few months and i think i have a really good shot at a new position as of the phone interview i just got off of earlier tonight. basically, i would be doing a job that is slightly beneath my skills and abilities, but for $10-15k more per year than i'm currently making.

i'd really like to grow my skills into a better position, but i think the money is too good to pass up and i know my current company will not give me that kind of raise to keep me around (and i'm not entirely sure i would stay if they did). i haven't been formally offered the position, but i was told at the end of the phone call tonight that i should "think about it" and expect a call tomorrow. i'm highly leaning towards taking the position, even though it means being in a position of lesser responsibility, i'm wondering how many would do the same?

You don't need to answer that but on the surface it seems like you'd have to have a really good reason not to take a job that offers that much more money, and it doesn't sound like you do. Chances are if they pay that well for someone at a level lower than you are currently at, the pay as you work up the ladder will be commensurate with that as well.

That's easy enough to avoid based on how you describe the positions though. - 25/02/2010 03:43:00 PM 156 Views

Less responsibility and more pay? How is that even a serious question, unless . . . - 25/02/2010 05:42:11 PM 185 Views
