Yes, a Senator looking to help his buddy who will probably vote against things his constituency supports... I can't imagine why we would want to end this practice!

Yeah. I'm SURE that an Indiana Democrat in the latter half of the 20th century was opposed to that sort of thing.
The Republican Senator was voted into office by people who did not want a Democrat in the Senate, so he is using his position and influence to help a Democrat stay in the Senate?
