A netbook is the speed of a 5 year old laptop (pentium m) or about a 7 year old desktop. A core 2 duo, core 2 quad, i3, or Athlon II x4 would blow it out of the water.

It would still work though for what Danu is asking

Here is a comparison between the two cpus (an atom vs what Danu requested), notice the i3 is 6 times faster in everything.)
