It doesn't sound like Amy's situation is one of them, but people who end up $300,000 in debt with a degree that doesn't qualify them to do anything are often upset and disillusioned because their education has directly contributed to their penury in later life.
I'm talking about education, not just school for the sake of school.
Hence my advice regarding planning and knowing what you are getting into.
But then, maybe the meaning of the word education in Australia is different. It does not always mean school here.
