I don't know how high expectations to have of the High Court in Pakistan, hopefully it will overturn it, but it's quite shocking that actual official courts, even lower-level, would make nonsensical decisions like this in Pakistan.

I'm assuming these decisions have something to do with the violent clashes between the religions in Pakistan in the past years, and with trying to avoid such riots, but that really isn't a justification for this kind of crap. I could understand having a fine for blasphemy, although I'm sure that would be rampantly abused and lead to miscarriages of justice as well, but this is ridiculous.

Needless to say, this kind of nonsense has no place in Islam. It belongs to that kind of xenophobic and/or anti-minority measures that dictators so love to use to foment strife among their population and to keep them from uniting against the dictatorship.
