My opinion of this from the beginning was that it was another ones of those "look what the evil republicans are doing" issues. You know just another way to call the other side fucking disgusting without breaking any civility rules. Only right wing assholes like myself would be rude enough to just say it straight out.

But as far as how this will affect students I would say it is minimal. There was an argument to be made about Texas fighting putting evolution in science books but I see this as a non-issue.
