Since when was nursing part of the service industry?

Nursing doesn't seem to fall into any of these categories.
EDIT: As well, this comes from the American Nurses Association:
"Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities; prevention of illness and injury; alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses; and advocacy in health care for individuals, families, communities, and populations."
Where in there does it say a nurse needs to have even a good bedside manner, so long as the aforementioned is all completed?
