If you have a relatively unique name, that makes it easier. If people know something about where you live or what you do, that makes it easier. If your name is Jeff Johnston and we don't know where you are or what you do, we can't do shit.
My name, for example, is nearly unique in the world. If you plug my first and last name together into Google, spelled properly, you will find me. But then, I didn't post on the WoW forums anyway ...
