Yeah. I have to skip it now. I didn't go looking for a hint from gamefaqs until the cluckatrice on hunt 3 or 4 royally kicked my ass. I still haven't killed the damn thing and its vile children.

Which ultimately means i got a few of the chests or all of them thats off limits for the spear. On my next play through if i do one I will definitely go for the spear of fubar or whatever its called.
