Yeah, but since Baldur's Gate caps you at a low level, you don't really get to enjoy those benefits. And I remember that before the Tales of the Sword Coast patch Sarevok had like 100% Magic Resistance or something which meant that your mage couldn't even attack in the last battle (though really, overwhelming with summons is a far better strategy).

True, but as you said, summons works better anyways!

I usually played with Imoen, Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc and Dynaheir, which appears to be the cannon party though I had no idea at the time. I don't remember any quest for Dynaheir though (aside from being rescued in the first place, which is more properly Minsc's quest). I've tried to play an EVIL party, but I really can't do it. There's no point if you're going for the "evil but pretends to be good" route and I can't bring myself to actually be evil .

Yah that's my favorite set up, but the last few times I've played I've tried to mix it up. I could have sworn Dynaheir had a quest of some sort, but I may be wrong. And it's easy to bring yourself to do evil when you realize those NPCs aren't real

Nah, there is an archaeologist you can stumble upon in the same area you find Commander Brage. He's excavating an old temple, and if you help him all his workers become possessed and try to kill you. If you try to leave with the artefact within, some sort of servant of the forgotten god appears and mauls you. And the artefact is useless (literally useless, you can't even sell it), unless you want that cursed vampiric sword.

HAH! go figure...

I got annoyed from the very first wilderness area outside Candlekeep. You explore that entire thing and all you'll find is a black bear and two wolves. There's a couple of people on the road (including Xzar and Montaron) but aside from the allies they don't actually have any quests to give. Oh, and there's one guy who says he'll commit suicide but won't. A lot of time to explore that area and nothing to show for it.

Uhm, I think that's them trying not to get you killed right off the bat Although yah, the probably should have made the area smaller then...

I never played BG1 and still REALLY enjoyed BG2. The story seemed a clean enough break to "get it." - 02/05/2011 01:14:23 PM 531 Views
i really recommend going back and playing BG1 then - 02/05/2011 04:19:21 PM 614 Views
