Will it be okay to just spray it in through the vents or will I need to disassemble the bottom of my laptop to allow the dust to escape?

It's better to open the laptop. Also, make sure the fan can't move when you clean the thing, it might break if you do not (the fans aren't designed to spin with the kind of speed spraying it with compressed air would cause it to spin with).

EDIT: Aemon has a valid point about the warranty though.

Almost certainly something clogging the fan. Get some compressed air and clean it out. *NM* - 05/05/2011 05:45:49 AM 261 Views
That's what I'd recommend as a first step. - 05/05/2011 09:34:10 PM 537 Views
