I have never had a problem with Steam. The whole platform is a form of DRM, but it's DRM that also adds value to the games, it's not intrusive and hasn't caused me any problems, and the prices they offer tend to be great.

Whether or not that's enough of an incentive to skip physical media is up to the individual, of course.
