I'm so sad that spell damage doesn't scale in Skyrim beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 09/12/2011 06:01:16 PM
For those not in the know, the first "tier" of Destruction spells in Skyrim are all short range, "flamethrower" type spells. That is, hold down the button (or both, for double-spell action) and you spew out a stream of fire, lightning, or cold.

It's a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, as I'm beginning to discover now that I've hit level 10, the spells have a flat damage rate. Flames are 8 damage per second, no matter how high your level is, or how much you've trained in the Destruction school.

Guess I'll have to start using Firebolt, sigh...

(Alhough what IS fun is casting Fire RUNE- a booby trap that barely affects me, due to 50% racial fire resistence plus some neat flame-resistent boots. So if a bear gets up all in my face I'm just "BOOM, you just got RUNED.";)
I amuse myself.

True, there are those perks. But they apply to all fire spells, or all dual-cast spells, etc - 09/12/2011 09:23:10 PM 901 Views

Can you enchant Light Armor to make it as effective as no-armor mage robes? *NM* - 09/12/2011 11:58:58 PM 486 Views
You can, I have done this. *NM* - 10/12/2011 12:02:37 AM 494 Views
I can usually get three or four fireballs off - 10/12/2011 12:37:15 AM 890 Views
Fireball splash damage doesn't hurt you. Walk up to a wall and blast it; no damage. *NM* - 10/12/2011 10:33:38 PM 484 Views
huh, good point - 11/12/2011 01:08:43 AM 874 Views
True enough. Can't you tell them to hold their ground, though? I've never used one so I dunno. *NM* - 11/12/2011 04:08:31 AM 448 Views

I think companions are a clever ruse by Bethesda - 14/12/2011 03:17:09 AM 853 Views
? You guys are crazy. Just get a companion, and forget about 'em. They catch up. - 14/12/2011 01:23:29 PM 953 Views
