I can almost see your point about it not being entirely logical.... But it still seems sensible to me, lol. And in any case, this is the way I'll continue playing regardless of anything. If I truly can't bear to part with an item, I'll just utilize the dreaded quick travel feature to dump my stuff off at my house and then return for it

There's no right or wrong way to play a game. As long as you're having fun, you can do whatever crazily rationalized stuff you want.
I just don't see the difference, that's all. But then, I've been accused by some ( *cough*shadow*cough* ) of being too results/performance/stats focused, so maybe that's part of the problem. Anyway, carry on and have fun.
I'm so sad that spell damage doesn't scale in Skyrim

This is your answer, as far as I can tell. Dragonbone is on top of the Light Armor branch. *NM*

True, there are those perks. But they apply to all fire spells, or all dual-cast spells, etc

Can you enchant Light Armor to make it as effective as no-armor mage robes? *NM*

I can usually get three or four fireballs off

Fireball splash damage doesn't hurt you. Walk up to a wall and blast it; no damage.

True enough. Can't you tell them to hold their ground, though? I've never used one so I dunno. *NM*

I wish the fireball explosions did knockback, ie sent enemies flying, that would be so much cooler *NM*

Lydia has been parked in my house ever since I got her. I prefer going solo in both NV and Skyrim. *NM*

Why not just use the console to add carrying capacity to yourself?

Surprisingly, console commands seem like "cheating" while mods with "features" don't.

It's compensating for game design that doesn't agree with you. Not cheating, as far as I'm concerned *NM*
