Thank God for small blessings; it is almost like those guys do not know HOW to milk a consumer base.

I actually start playing in a GURPS game this weekend... I'll miss all my polyhedral die.
When you say that Wizards gets a warm fuzzy feeling deep down in their wallets. Also, remember you need a completely different set of rules (and library of books for them) to play in an SF setting. For some reason, neither is appropriate for combining science fiction AND fantasy, but that is nothing another set of rules (and books) cannot fix.
Lessee, a tube of dice that cost me $5 back in 1990, even though I NEVER used the d12 or d8, and seldom used the bizarre d4, or three six-siders, two of which nearly everyone has lying around their house from a decades old Monopoly set or game of backgammon; which is cheaper and more easily available...?

4th Edition has been a commercial failure. 5th Edition wasn't originally due for several years yet.

No, the future of D&D has resided with Pathfinder for a while. *NM*

A fine example of a mechanic that seems lifted whole sale from GURPS 3rd ed.
