People who are angry with Blizzard have latched on to Torchlight as a sort of "more worthy" Diablo, but the games do not have the same scope. You can beat Torchlight in a couple of hours and count the number of unique enemies and level designs on one hand. Torchlight II will undoubtedly expand on the original, but anyone who thinks a $24 game by Runic will be a true "alternative" to one of Blizzard's flagship products is kidding themselves. The two just aren't in the same class.
