Since you can probably get Diablo II for even less nowadays... Legolas Send a noteboard - 22/05/2012 10:49:06 PM
Currently Steam is offering Torchlight 2 for preorder at €18.99 (around $24) with a free copy of Torchlight alongside it. Basically my question is are these games worth playing because it seems like a great value deal? Thoughts, comments and opinions welcome.

I'm inclined to say go for that instead, considering the lukewarm comments about Diablo III I've seen. Torchlight can probably be had for five euro or so still, which is definitely a good deal. I haven't played Torchlight 2, so can't comment on that, but if it keeps the strengths of the original and finds some ways to give it more depth and replayability, then nineteen euros for both is definitely a good deal. Although the problem of buying a game alongside its sequel, or even after its sequel, in my experience, is that you barely bother with the original, unless it's sufficiently different from the sequel (e.g. Age of Wonders which still can be played alongside AoW2) or just plain superior to it (but then you're wasting your money on the sequel). So not sure if getting Torchlight for free as a bonus is really that great...
