I never played Diablo back in the day, believe it or not. I actually played Torchlight first. As far as the time it takes to beat, howlongtobeat.com says the average Torchlight playthrough is 13 hours, while Diablo II is 23. The fastest times (again, according to that site; who knows what kind of accuracy they have) is 5 hours for Torchlight and 15 for Diablo.

Anyway. I know the two are pretty much the same, gameplay-wise, but in scope, polish, features, etc...they seem pretty different.
