Sorry, I'm just sick of the amount of invites I've been given at this stage.
Do they intend to sell this eventually, because pretty much everyone who could want the game has it by now.

Do they intend to sell this eventually, because pretty much everyone who could want the game has it by now.I think it's being promoted as free-to-play, but it's still in beta due to original dota content continually being added.
Because of that, they're gradually expanding the player base through invites. Alternatively, people can purchase "early access" or something, but it's unnecessary. So, I think the whole invite thing is just a viral way to get more players without exploding the server requirement.
The sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.
If anyone wants or needs DotA 2 invites, let me know.
