Why not? That's exactly what's supposed to happen. Aemon Send a noteboard - 20/06/2013 04:02:30 PM

Company does stupid stuff, consumers speak up, company changes its mind about stupid stuff. There are far too many examples of companies just carrying on anyway, telling the consumers "we know what's best." Microsoft listened and completely reversed its controversial policies. No compromises, just straight out the door. What more could you ask for?

View original postIf anything, I'm shocked it took them this long, and especially at the string of ridiculously stupid remarks various members of their camp have made. "We have a device for that, it's called a 360," and so on.

"This long?" Six months BEFORE release is too long? The console was only announced a month ago! In most big companies it takes at least a month just to schedule a meeting with everyone who needs to approve the feature changes.

View original postI am perfectly happy gaming on my PC. I'd like a console, but I can get by just fine without one as well. I certainly wouldn't touch the Xbox One with a ten foot pole, no matter what they do at this point, simply because they've been so anti-consumer and so stupid for so long that I've lost all respect and interest in them. No, it's a PS4 or nothing for me.

That's fine, but keep in mind that many of the anti-consumer features that Microsoft was trying to implement have been part of the PC market for quite some time. Hard disk installs are required, games (in most cases) can't be loaned, traded, resold, etc.
