I don't see how that could work, though. The DRM in question is pretty binary. Either you can play offline, or you can't. Either the disc you give your friend works on his machine, or it doesn't.

Even if you can sneak it in somehow, there's nothing preventing Sony from doing the exact same thing. Right now both companies have made a commitment not to include this kind of DRM. They're on equal footing. The fact that Microsoft was going to try to include it, while Sony wasn't, really doesn't tell you much. They jumped the gun a bit is all. They're no more evil or anti-consumer than Sony is.
