You can't DO anything in an overmap though. For all functional purposes, the airship screen was the same. It had secret places to go to, like you mentioned for the overmap, and let you go anywhere you'd been before. I mean don't get me wrong, if you liked the overmap, I don't have any problem with that. FFX really did let you do the same things though, just with a slightly different interface.
FFXIII gets an official North American release date.
