you can play online at a couple of sites imlad Send a noteboard - 02/09/2009 02:14:45 AM
but i really want to play it, i'm gonna buy it when i go home

you can find it all over on the internet, many places sell it. or just go to Mayfair Games's website (in US) to order a copy. Not sure who has the publishing rights right now outside the US though.

If you want to play a java based version online there are two places to go.

The first, and the 1st one I played at online, used to be on a Northwestern University server, part of a AI project that a student there developed. The interface and visuals of that site are very simplistic, but it has really smart AI bots to play against (compared to the next site I'll mention). Some very good players there too if you play on the ladder server. The NWU server no longer runs, but all the sourcecode for it was transferred over to:

www.jsettlers.com

The second site is where I am constantly playing the last few years, mostly in the ranking lobbies (under about a dozen nicknames). Great visuals, with 3 skins you can choose from, sound effects, and a very simple intuitive interface. Many great players, but there are over 20K nicknames registered at the site. It has Catan, as well as several other games. The site calls Catan "Xplorers." The url is:

games.asobrain.com
