Why did you have to kill him?

I was going to do the same but I started exploring the castle first. I found the kid upstairs and when I tried to enter the Arl's room, he changed into the demon and I couldn't do anything about it. I fought it and it changed back into the kid. After that, the mom comes back in and starts saying that since I am set on killing him, at least let her be the one to do it. There was no way out at that point. The choice is let his mom kill him or do it yourself.
Makin' sweet love to CMBs since 2001.
