Now, I only played the demo, but I don't think there'd necessarily be anything you would consider OFFENSIVE. I just remember it feeling a bit surreal.
Like, the main character has his dead wife's crucifix. He can shoot out cross-shaped blasts with it. If he upgrades it (with "souls," which he gets from fighting enemies...), it can shoot out multiple blasts of light.
At various points you meet people (historical figures, and others) whom you can "Save" or "condemn," and then get the relevant upgrade point bonus (there are two tech trees, one for light and one for dark). Like, I believe Pontius Pilate is one of the first ones you meet.
One of the collectibles are "Judas Coins"
So yeah, it's not like it has Judas in a giant mecha, and you defeat him by tossing Communion wafers at his neck, only to find out that he's really Lucifer in human/mecha form in conspiracy with the Metatron to rule the galaxy.
It's more just that it's surreal to see elements of a religion I grew up with in video game form.
(Oh, there is a bunch of nudity in the game. Not sure if that matters to you, but figured I'd mention it)

For me, this just kinda makes me want to get the game more? I may be odd when it comes to this...I know that I certainly stand out at my church for oddities like this. Much like the Diablo games...gamer stuff based upon Christian elements, but with a dose of....artistic freedom?....doesn't really bother me. However, and this may be something for me to think on, when it is in literature (i.e.- Divince Code, Angels & Demons) that bothers me?
As per the nudity...*shrug*...I watch Spartacus: Blood & Sand...so the game couldn't be any worse.
I can see why it would be sureal however.

It was the Christian imagery that turned me off, oddly enough

This is why it's ironic that EA mocked the idea of Religious games, and used it as PR for the game.

I think it's that the game takes itself so seriously. I LOVE Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter
