Minimum points scored would be 1. So, if you are able to get points from it, the minimum would be one regardless of the divide by 2 rule. So if two people are supposed to get 1 point between them, they both get the point. But if they were getting say 3 points, they would get 1.5 rounded down which is still 1.
Also, for the 3 people, the top to people share the rank of 1, but the third person still get 3rd place. In any competition I have ever seen, if two people tie for a certain rank, they both get the rank and the person underneath them gets the rank he would normally get. So 2 people tie for 3rd. They both get 3rd. The person beneath them gets 5th.
