I have had that same experience with one of the librarians who works at the library across the street from my house. Years ago when I used to read Tom Clancy, she asked me if I ever tried Daniel Silva (Gabriel Allon series) or Alex Berenson (John Wells series). Based on those recommendations I read every book they both wrote and thoroughly enjoyed them. Come to find out she had only read one or two of each and asked me if the rest were as good as the few she had read.

By the way I have also read all the Reacher and Joe Pike novels. Joe Pike and his guardian angel Nate Romanowski are interesting characters.
