It's not about the right to a national platform nor is it a First Amendment issue damookster Send a noteboard - 21/06/2017 02:50:47 AM

Obviously Alex Jones doesn't have the right to demand someone interview him on television. Equally as obviously, NBC as a private corporation can air or not air whomever they want. Particularly on a news/entertainment hybrid interview show. But all sorts of heinous human beings have been interviewed on national TV because their views, however abhorrent, were deemed newsworthy or entertaining by someone. It's only this millennium that the belief has become widespread that our psyches are too easily damaged to be subjected to a verbal assault from contrary views.

I didn't watch the interview, only selected clips on various news articles where Kelly challenged him and he couldn't reply effectively. If you claim she didn't do that enough, that's a valid criticism. Ideally it would have been such a hostile interview that Jones walked out - something that often happened to Mike Wallace. But if the majority in Connecticut had their way, even if that were the case, no one would ever have known.
