3) It is an independence day type of movie, both in the theme of independence but also fictional big budget July action style of movie.

4) Lastly, healthy nationalism is not just a single thing for we all have multiple nationalities even if we do not recognize it. I am a Texan and I take national pride in that, I am an American, blah, blah, blah, other nationalities...so even while Mask of Zorro is a fictional movie about Mexico gaining it independence from Spain, and an alternate reality of Californians overthrowing the yoke of Santa Anna...well any good Texan could emotionally empathize for we overthrew the yoke of those Spainards and then we overthrew the yoke of that same Santa Anna, so I can watch a fictional brother about my brother nation California...even though Texas is mostly better than California
