I'm talking about the App for Windows that comes via the Microsoft store, not the one you download directly from Kindle. Because I had that app up until a couple of hours ago when it stopped working, would not let me sign in again, and when I uninstalled it to redo it on my Surface tablet, I couldn't find it. I went to the Microsoft Store to download it all over again, but the store doesn't recognize it. When you search for the Kindle App, you get other peripheral apps, and other reader apps, including Nook, but no Kindle app. So I used Amazon's app, and am now in the process of RE-downloading all my books, as I do every time I have to replace my tablet , but the glimpses I've had of the app as a reading tool don't give me a lot of comfort. Even though it's buggy, my favorite iteration of Kindle was the Widows app. I prefer it to the iOS or Android versions, but it seems like it suddenly went away.

Microsoft seems to have just put out a new version of Windows 10 that you are forced to update to, and among the control functions I find annoying is that the screen no longer adjusts orientation if you turn the tablet on its side. There was a lock control before, so you could stop it from flipping if you didn't want to (and it messed up the fonts on the Kindle app, so I often did not want to - see above, re: buggy), but now, if you want to go from Kindle, with the "portrait" orientation, to a game that requires "landscape" orientation (are we really too stupid to figure out horizontal & vertical? ), now you have to go to the display controls in the settings to switch the display. It sucks, and is a major thing I've noticed since the latest update, and it makes me wonder if this update has eliminated their Kindle app.

Anyone else have issues?
