I also think he needlessly gets a lot of shit from people about his style, which honestly isn't really different from anyone else's in the genre. Oddly enough, my favorite book by him was Warbreaker (right? I think that was the name). The whole idea of color as spirit and people returned to perform special tasks was sort of fun. Mistborn was good, I really enjoyed it. I liked Elantris though it was a bit uneven.
