I only cut and paste things I cite from elsewhere, or to move text around while I'm writing. I type faster than I hand-write, but I don't really consider my typing very fast. I use all my fingers, but I haven't really trained or studied at it. They made us do typing exercises in the first quarter of computer lit in my senior year of high school, and I just kind of stuck with the techniques, even when they were hard. I didn't really get into the internet until I was in my mid-twenties, with wotmania. I didn't have internet at home, so I had to post things fast, at work or in the library in the early discussions, so that was kind of a motivation to get it done quickly. Whatever I have in speed of keystrokes, I feel like I lose with the backspace key on typos. ( "typos" in that prior sentence took five tries to get right. And "right" just now, took three)
Note the relative times of our replies. Your response citing me was not visible when I started writing my own response, because I obviously didn't see or respond to it until I posted my own, which means it took well over fifteen minutes to write my post, then I entered it, and saw you had mentioned me in the meantime, and replied briefly to your thing.
