So I am tearing down an old bathroom and making a new one instead. To save money I decided that "I can surely manage to at least tear the old stuff down myself" (since I borrowed as much as the bank was willing to lend me when I bought out the ex a few months ago). I'm sure you can see where this is heading...

The bathroom is on the upper floor of my house, and the sewage pipes should be replaced as well since they are in cast iron (aka old). So today I was opening up the duct for the sewage pipes from the basement up to the upper floor, right by the door on the lower floor. At my very first cut with a heavy duty saw I managed to cut open not only the wooden wall but also a water pipe going through that same duct.

I was going to have a plumber here tomorrow anyway to do some related stuff, so it's not a complete disaster, but it still feels very symbolic. I will probably tear down stuff in the future as well, I just have to make sure there is nothing important anywhere nearby.
