They're doing much better than Germany so far. Mo Salah couldn't save Egypt.

Waiting for Uruguay to beat Saudi Arabia tomorrow and then Russia will definitely advance. As it stands now I can't imagine Russia not advancing given that Egypt has been eliminated and I really don't think Saudi Arabia can beat Uruguay.

I am especially happy given that this is on home soil, so I am pleased for the Russian team and the Russian fans (of which I include myself). I don't expect them to get past the group of 16 given that I wager they would be playing either Spain or Portugal (both of whom I would be happy to see lose. I too share your antipathy to Iberian teams.
