Are they claiming the arctic isn't melting ? I recall a recording of a glacier the size of Manhatten crashing into the ocean.

That always happens. That's where we get icebergs from. The same "scientific community" that claims global warming is settled science were insisting when I was a kid that dinosaurs like brachiosaurus & diplodocus & brontosaurus (oops, they got that wrong, probably by Christian extremists sabotaging them: it's actually apatosaurus) needed to spend lots of time in the water to hold up their bulk, and they would flee to the water whenever a predator came around. Now, the consensus is so far from that, that the latest Jurassic Park movie has a scene of a brachiosaurus standing helplessly on the shore, with no place to flee imminent danger Hey, you stupid dinosaur, just swim! The finest scientific minds of the '80s swore the bump on your head was a snorkel! And Pluto was an actual planet that was larger than Mercury.
