Most of what the critic in question complained about were things that all the actual people I know loved about Sons. And, of course, he'd bitch about contrived plots and plot-driven characterization, and then write glowing reviews of Game of Thrones.
I haven't read any of the reviews. I'm looking forward to see how it develops. Sons was a great show, I hope Mayans lives up to it.
