I have decided the founders messed up by putting the voting season after Harvest and right next to the time of the boundaries between the worlds allow the dead to walk (or something, I do not profess to be an expert on this mythological lore even though I was raised a Catholic ). I think there is some kind of leakage that allows pure nonsense to enter the brains of anyone who wants to seek public office.
