They would give the study some far left social justice activist who would come out with a report the will show reparations is not only need but would cure most of the problems with race and inequality. It will call for massive movement of funds from one section of the economy to other based not on need be race.

My family were dirt poor coal miners in Kentucky while slavery was happening and were treated little better than slaves themselves. I still have family that live in the Appalachian mountains at a level of poverty that is borderline third world. Are they less deserving of help because they are enjoying all tat while privilege?

The real problem with the entire idea is it takes us further down the road of dividing people against them each other by saying some poor are more deserving of not only our help but our compassion and sympathy because of the color of their skin. It says that a wealthy black child should be given preference over a poor white child in school admission. We allow racist comments from educated men of color to go unchallenged but condemn an uneducated white for similar things. It has gotten so bad that most of the country thought it was immoral for the president to point out that both sides of a violent protest were behaving violently.
