about rights. As far as we know, Amazon does not have the rights to The Silmarillion or any of the History of Middle Earth books. Nor have they acknowledged rights to Unfinished Tales or anything other than The Lord of the Rings. So is this just a tease?

I mean if this series is going to cost $500 million, what if they already secured the rights to Unfinished Tales? And the entire thing? Depending how well the first series does, they could have lots of different series. Much like CBS All Access is now doing with Star Trek.
