(not sure if you realized that Flemish and Dutch are variants of the same language, no more different than British and American English).

Yeah I did know that, but forgot. Hey, I'm old.


Though personally I kind of like the way that various nationalities each have their own version of English as a second language, each with its own typical mistakes or strange ways of phrasing things (e.g. if you ever see/hear somebody writing or saying 'it are', you can be pretty sure they're a native Dutch or German speaker).

I've noticed this. My team at work has a lot of Indian members. I've noticed people from India say, "Is it" where we would say "really" or "seriously." Or, "I, also, was thinking the same."

We have a lot of Brazilians as well. They pronounce words with "ed" at the end as if the ed were a separate syllable. Like, "shipp-ed" for shipped.
