Reason goes out the window when it comes to sensible gun legislation, particularly whenever another sociopath commits a mass shooting. The rhetoric and finger-pointing ensure nothing constructive will ever be even discussed let alone enacted.

That is why I am sharing this article, written by conservative gun owner David French in the conservative National Review. Notice that he supports well written red-flag laws that guarantee due process - laws that actually might have prevented both the El Paso and Dayton mass killings. Not showpiece 'look what I did' laws that will accomplish little or nothing.


Remember David French is also a former lawyer for the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF, formerly called Alliance Defense Fund)

Pretty much "liberty" is a big deal with David, sometimes liberty taken to an absurd degree.

Trust me David French annoys me personally quite frequently, yet I will "stan" by him on other issues... My point here is David French is a principled actor in this complicated and mixed up world. In such a world we need to listen more to the people of principle.
