How is this different than the Hollywood Movie Musical which was the main showbiz attraction and profit leader for an era of cinema history. I am sure at the time people would call the Hollywood Movie Musical drivel and it was wasting real time that should have gone to true cinema.

Sidenote what is the value of "high culture" vs "culture" ? As a language nerd I am sure you are aware of the history of something being high culture was often due to class as in money or in language (for many people did not knew a 2nd language, eventually though it was not literally language both other forms of specialized knowledge such as intelligentsia.)
But what makes something high culture being somehow better than culture? What makes the archaic and the arcane better in some way?
