But I don't think you can mold yourself to be something for anyone's approval. The best approval is the kind that doesn't matter, not the kind that you feel dependent on, no?

Perhaps it's the months of isolation but I find myself seeking common ground even with those where I would normally have none. Like you.

Part of real common ground, real synchronization ...

is learning which parts of us we are extremely firm in for they form our identity, our world view, our values.

But also to find out the part of ourselves where we have a stake in the ground but then attached to that stake is a rope that can roam around that stake. This is the area you are flexible in.
