Let's just get one thing straight. Professional athletes, like actors, musicians and TV personalities, including "journalists" are meat puppets who are overpaid to dance for our amusement like monkeys with the organ grinder. You put up with them flinging shit around because they entertain us and not a second after they don't. If the monkey can't dance, you get a new monkey.
Did that kid who can't walk right get a free college education and several million dollars for the activities that brought about the injury? The average NFL career is less than three and a half years. Dak Prescott got a quarter of the way through his fifth. As far as the general herd goes, he has had an extraordinarily charmed life even if he spends the rest of it in a wheelchair.
And I've been watching sports for decades. I have simply not seen this level of mourning and reverence for an injury, including some that did end up ending careers. Like, this is comparable to when you are worried the guy might not regain consciousness.
But to each his own.
