But it's amazing just how many products have dairy in them in some form or another.
...some show about food and eating, where they went to a supermarket and took out all products containing sugar, dairy, wheat and perhaps something else. The aisles ended up very sparsely populated.
I think it was an Australian show, and IIRC he went to the US to find even less "genuine" food.
Its also amazing how many foods now have soy in them. Even chocolate from Europe! Soy Lecithin is apparently everywhere.
One of the pieces of advice I was given about how to eat was essentially shop at the edges of a supermarket. Vegetables, fruits, nuts, meats/fish, dairy. Don't go into the center. That's where all the processed garbage is.
My goal is to get to the point where I only eat fruits, nuts, vegetables, legumes, herbs, spices, chicken, turkey, fish, seafood, cheese, unprocessed more natural breads (Rye especially), good pasta and good rice. The goal remains to get rid of as much added sugar as possible while continuing to avoid dairy (except cheese).
