Because the reality is, Moiraine was not that powerful, she could handle a couple of Trollocs in a skirmish, but she's not a WMD.

Moiraine is pretty strong, and she has an angreal. I could find no scene in the trailer with her obviously using it, but even unaided she's no pushover. In EoTW she make a wall of fire across a whole mountain to stop the trolloc army - granted it left her quite drained, but I don't think the trailer made her seem more powerful than she is.

So the gestures, even if not necessary, are a thing they do and thus we actually get a visual representation of how it slows them down. This, I believe, is one of the potential greater advantages of the medium, especially if they pay it off when the Aiel & Sea Folk take a bigger role.

I don't mind gestures - I just hope they don't need to 'gather their strength' to use the Power meaningfully. It will detract from the OP battles where they slice each others flows and try outweave each other.

The problem with GOT series was that it ran out of source material..... Anonymous2000 - 04/09/2021 01:17:54 PM 758 Views
But there were lots of hints that they didn't get the source material from the beginning Cannoli - 04/09/2021 05:05:58 PM 750 Views

For a WOT TV series, lots and lots of the books will need to be cut. Anonymous2000 - 05/09/2021 02:43:31 AM 731 Views
