Likewise with the 3 Black Oaths, Verrin found a loophole about revealing the secrets of The Black Ajah
She 'found' a loophole? Verin's loophole is an entire unnecessary/worthless clause.
It's simply not believable 'in story' that the Black Ajah swore this oath:
I shall hold close the secrets of the Black Ajah, unto the hour of my death.
instead of this one:
I shall forever hold close the secrets of the Black Ajah.
Plain and simple, this was bad writing.
But I was just adding the 5th or so example of these Ter'angreal oath-y / compel-ly things to demonstrate the premise is flawed. That said it makes me question Ishmael‘s competence. He was a philosophy major, did he never have a logic class or anything that tested analytical abilities when he created his variant three oaths?
